Process Mapping (Flowcharting)
Process mapping allows people to take ownership and develop shared understanding about how things are done. This aligns effort, reduces frustration and saves time.
Process maps remove the need to ask the questions: why?, how?, who?, what? and when?. They prevent the time-consuming need to ‘reinvent the wheel’ when the person who knows about the process leaves our organisation.
Process maps support induction, training and coaching, and help with identifying quality issues and potential improvements.
Typical school processes include enrolments, reporting to parents, and curriculum planning. Classroom processes include home learning, project planning, and students’ record keeping.
